Bridges 2023 Travel and Tourism

Airport Transportation

The Bridges Halifax Hospitality committee is offering car pooling to and from the airport on July 26 and August 1 on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like a ride to or from the airport, please complete the car pool request form. If you would like to volunteer to drive Bridges attendees to or from the airport, please complete the car pool volunteer form.

The Bridges Around the City website also has information about traveling from the airport to Halifax in the Getting Here & Getting Around section on the opening page.

Public Transportation in Halifax

All registered participants will receive a complimentary pass that grants them free access to Halifax buses and ferries from 26 July until 01 August. For information about routes and schedules, please consult the Halifax Transit website.

Information for Visitors

The Bridges Around the City website has lots of great information about making the most of your Halifax visit. In addition, check out our Local Hotspots List of attractions, art galleries, museums, eateries, and more. Participants are encouraged to add their favourite Halifax hotspot to the list.

Weather

Don’t forget to pack clothing layers to accommodate a variety of weather, including a swimsuit and a rain jacket. The weather can vary from day to day. There are great beaches on the lakes and the ocean around the city. In the Halifax rain and wind, umbrellas don’t usually stand up well, so a rain jacket is always great to have.
