Bridges 2022 Regular Papers

Chair: David Reimann
Submission deadline: 01 February 2022

Regular papers report on new research in mathematical art, and are six or eight pages in length. The Bridges Conference is looking for papers that have a mathematical component, an artistic component, and clear connections between the two. We consider the arts to include fine arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, fiber arts, jewelry, etc.), performing arts (music, dance, theater, juggling, magic, etc.), language arts (literature, poetry, wordplay, etc.), cultural arts (cinema, fashion, etc.), and applied arts (architecture, design, mechanical puzzles, culinary art, etc.). Each paper must present original ideas or mathematical artwork that has not been previously published. Prospective authors can visit the Bridges Archive for examples of papers from past years. Every regular paper will be granted a 30-minute slot in the program, during which the authors are expected to give a 20 minute presentation and answer questions.

As with other academic conferences, the primary goal of Bridges is for people to meet and interact. We expect that at least one author of every accepted paper will attend the conference in person, and reserve the right to revoke acceptance otherwise.

In order to maximize the diversity of authors and keep the proceedings a reasonable size, each conference participant can be the main author and presenter on at most one regular paper, short paper, or workshop paper. When submitting a co-authored paper, you are required to specify which author will present the paper at the conference, and no individual can be listed as presenter more than once.

All papers must be formatted as they would appear in the conference proceedings. Please follow the formatting guidelines when preparing a submission. Papers that ignore the formatting guidelines or the length limits may be returned without review. To submit a paper, please follow our paper submission process

Schedule

We will publish all papers in the online Bridges Archive before the beginning of the conference. Therefore, there is a tight and firm schedule:

  • Initial submission: 01 February 2022
  • Author notification: 30 March 2022
  • Final manuscript submission: 30 April 2022

All papers must follow the schedule specified here. You must also register for the conference by April 30. Please note that a non-refundable full conference registration is required by at least one author of each paper.
